When they met for the first time on the bleachers at their kids’ gymnastics meet, Susan Edwards and Monica Sanchez had no idea that just a few years later they would become co-owners of a thriving health and wellness center.
Of course, back in 2009, the initial conversation subjects for these would-be mompreneurs centered on their children and nutrition. A conversation about shared passions and aspirations soon followed. And it wasn’t long before they realized they were both at a crossroads in life.
Monica was in the process of a closing a business and Susan was working at a preschool. With their children now older, they needed something new, something more… something inspirational. Then one day, while doing sit-ups on exercise medicine balls, Monica had an epiphany. “I know what I want to do,” she said. “I want to open some type of holistic nutrition business. And I’d love for you to do it with me.”
So, they created a vision board. And over the next few months, they started a home-based consulting business and planned for something more. There were challenges, of course. There were those who told them to start small, to plan on the banks denying first-time business owners a loan. But they persevered and secured their first loan.
In 2014 they purchased a 4,800 square foot facility in Brea, California, and H-bling (short for ‘Holistic Balanced Living’) was born.
Today H-Bling is a fast-growing Health & Recover Center providing Cryotherapy, Infrared & Nutritional Therapies to a diverse clientele of athletes, health enthusiasts, celebrities and families so they can naturally heal, feel and live better.
